Stan is an all-in-one, social media-based e-commerce platform that empowers creators to easily monetize their audience. The company was founded by ex-Goldman Sachs employee John Hu after he left the job and became a content creator. This pivot helped him understand challenges creators face and realized there was a gap in the market and a way to fill it.

Hu created Stan to combine all the tools creators need to monetize their creativity. The platform is very popular with content creators and is dubbed “Shopify for creators”. Some of the prominent creators leveraging the platform include Abigail Peugh, Millie Adrian, Eddie Abbew, Sarah Perl, Tatiana Londono, Thea Wayne, and others.

​In 2021, Stan Store secured a $5 million seed funding round led by Forerunner Ventures. Following this investment, the startup experienced significant growth. By the end of 2023, the company reported an annual recurring revenue of $14.7 million.
